Each year Rotarians serve spaghetti dinners to the students, parents and staff at the open house night of area elementary schools. It's a great fun and all donations go back to the schools' education fund. Sep 28 was the final 2007 school dinner. [Schedule & Maps]
Each year, the Rotarians personally hand out dictionaries to every 4th grade student in the LaBelle area. It's always a joy to witness the excitement of the students when the books are passed out in their classes. Yummy Abueluf, project chair.
The LaBelle Rotary scholarship program helps students who complete their two-year Edison College degree go on to complete a 4-year bachelors degree. Current recipients are Matthew Conely at FAU, DoriAnn Dyess at FGCU, and Brainna Gutierrez at FSU.
The World Famous LaBelle Rotary Armadillo Races are held the last full weekend of February as part of Swamp Cabbage Festival. The only thing more fun than racing armadillos is catching them in the wild. Plan to join in. [Advertisement] [Armadillo Races]
The LaBelle Rotary Club Officers for 2007-2008 are: President Ravi Bhagwandin, President-elect Mark Lapp, Secretary Jimmy Luckey, Treasurer Randy Daniels, Sargent at Arms Cory Raborn, and Past-president Greg Gunter.
